Raul Rogers said the club wants to have ‘proper processes’ in place to resolve the issue before the weekend.
He did not specify any possible punishment, however.
The club have said the matter was discussed internally last season.
The Westpac-Melbourne clash in Hobart follows last weekend’s clash against Gold Coast – where the premiers lost the clash on the Westpac Stadium turf by 30 points after a late late rally.
Former player Andrew Swallow was disappointed to find no referee or assistants within a few seconds of the final siren.
“I don’t know what can be done,” Swallow told reporters in Wellington.
“He was not there a few seconds early… that’s frustrating. I’m disappointed that something went wrong that quickly. It seemed to happen because of the timing.”

“His (Petero Civoniceva’s) brother was dying in hospital and that was the reason. It was really strange to hear that.”
Former Brisbane Lions midfielder Andrew Swallow, who is with the United States team in the World Cup, said after the game the result “gives me some hope” that there will be no repeat of the match.
He called for more of a focus on the welfare of the players.
Swallow said: “You hear the fans say they love the players and they love the game and you know they’re really well loved and when something like this happens they kind of have to accept that’s where they are.”
